Description

Silica Beads（-OH）, short for AllMag?Superparamagnetic Silica Nanoparticles are designed for nucleic acid purification. These silica beads have a core-shell structure of magnetite-rich core and inorganic silica shell, with large numbers of silanol groups on the surface. They are available as aqueous suspensions and are ready to use after easy vortex. By mixing these silica beads with chaotropic salt（e.g. guanidine hydrochloride, guanidine isothiocyanate）, nucleic acids can be rapidly isolated from biological samples without centrifugation and organic extraction steps. These products enable laboratories to automatically and safely process tens of thousands of samples per day.

Performance

Binding capacity: 4-12μg genomic DNA per mg per 200μl whole blood( in AllMag?Blood DNA kit, Proteinase K reagent test results, the results will vary with the whole blood sample and the reagent system used

AllMag ? SM1-015 recommended usage: 1-2 mg/time

Storage and Stability

AllMag ? SM1 series magnetic beads are stable when stored at 2-10°C. Before use, please thoroughly vortex the suspension. Freezing,drying or centrifuging the AllMag?silica beads may result in irreversible aggregation and loss of binding activity. Before use, please thoroughly vortex the suspension.

For automatic genomic DNA isolation 

Comparison of three automatic genomic DNA isolation methods base on magnetic beads. 200μl human whole blood, stored at -20℃, were used for evaluation, each with two replicates. Genomic DNA were isolated on the A robot (produced by our customer) and KingFisher robotic platform using the Blood DNA Kit (SM1-015B) and the being compared kit was from competitor.

Viral DNA/RNA isolation

Bacterial DNA isolation

Extraction of bacterial DNA (Bacillus subtilis) from six dilution series with two replicates each. The DNA was isolated using the Universal Bacteria DNA Isolation Kit (I company), which the silica spin were replaced by SM1-015B beads as control. DNA Elution were used in a qPCR reaction.
